Stubb: Europe's security situation remains tense in the long term

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has warned that the security situation in Europe is likely to remain tense and difficult to predict for the foreseeable future.

In an interview with Reuters news agency, Stubb emphasized that the geopolitical situation poses complex challenges that cannot be resolved quickly or easily.

With regard to security guarantees for Ukraine, Stubb spoke of visible progress and expressed cautious optimism that a solution could be found soon.

These efforts are central to stability in Europe and support for Ukraine in the ongoing war.

At the same time, he expressed doubts about the possibility of reaching a common framework for peace talks in the near future.

“I am not very optimistic that we will reach a ceasefire or a viable framework for negotiations in the near future,” Stubb said.
