Rutte: Russian missiles can reach The Hague or Madrid within minutes

During his visit to Luxembourg, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned that Russia poses an immediate threat to all European countries. He referred to the incident involving the plane in which Ursula von der Leyen was flying, whose GPS was allegedly jammed by Russia, as well as other hybrid attacks – from cyber sabotage to assassination attempts.

Rutte emphasized that these events were not insignificant incidents, but had serious consequences for the security of the entire continent, reports the agency Unian.

He added that new Russian missile technologies make it possible to reach cities such as The Hague, Madrid, or Luxembourg within five to ten minutes.

Therefore, all European countries “in the eastern wing” must jointly increase their defense spending. He explained that strengthening defense is not a response to political pressure, but to the growing threat from Moscow.
