Argentinian authorities announced that they had successfully recovered an iconic painting stolen by the Nazis 80 years ago. The painting is a portrait of Contessa Colleoni by Italian painter Giuseppe Ghislandi.
Its discovery was purely coincidental—the painting appeared in a photo of a property in Mar del Plata that was up for sale.

This discovery was followed by police raids that led to its rescue. The work had long been registered in the database of artworks stolen by the Nazis.
