During the final years of his presidency, Joe Biden had obvious difficulty remembering names and dates and increasingly requested additional briefings before making decisions.
This was revealed by his former chief of staff Jeff Zients before a congressional committee, as reported by the Axios portal.
Zients further testified that the president's condition gradually deteriorated, which was also noticed by former First Lady Jill Biden. She then urged her husband to adjust his work schedule so that he would have more time to rest.
Other close associates also called for a reduction in the demanding schedule. Surprisingly, it also became known that the president's son, Hunter Biden, had participated in discussions about presidential pardons and had been present at some meetings.
