Zaporizhzhya without power again, Kyiv blames Russia and demands action
The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy has called on the international community to take decisive action to end Russia's occupation of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. The reason for this is the tenth failure of all external power lines, which seriously jeopardizes the safety of the plant.
According to Kyiv, this is further proof that the presence of Russian forces directly threatens the safe operation of the power plant. The ministry emphasized that the only solution is to return the power plant to the full and legitimate control of Ukraine.
The Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, is located in an active conflict zone and has long been under Russian control.
Power outages increase the risk of an accident and, according to the ministry, give cause for concern about nuclear safety not only in Ukraine but also throughout the region.
