Kickl advises Foreign Minister Meinl-Reisinger to remain in Ukraine

FPÖ leader Herbert caused a stir with a dig at Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger (NEOS). “I don't even know how many times I've been to Kiev. In any case, more often than she has been to her office. And every time she goes there, I think to myself, please, please, keep her there, naturalize her. Then we'll have a win-win situation: we won't need her anymore, return her,” Kickl said at an event.

Beate Meinl-Reisinger has been Foreign Minister since March 2025. She has visited Ukraine several times since taking office, most recently in Odessa. It was her third visit since taking office. Previously, she had been in Kyiv and Lviv, where she met with Ukrainian government representatives.

During these meetings, she emphasized the importance of European support for the country's reconstruction and spoke out in favor of close cooperation with Kyiv.
