Macron faces accusations against the prime minister over manipulation and isolation

President Emmanuel Macron has reappointed Sébastien Lecornu as prime minister just four days after his resignation. This move is intended to end the political crisis, which many commentators have described as the most serious in decades.

Lecornu stated that his priorities were the budget and solving the problems faced by citizens, emphasizing the need to end the instability.

However, the opposition has criticized this move—right-wing politician Bardella called it a “bad joke,” while Marine Le Pen described it as a “shameful manipulation” that voters would remember.

The left-wing opposition has described Macron's decision as a farce and is calling for a change as soon as possible. The Greens accuse the president of ignoring the voice of voters who have expressed their desire for a different government.

Some outgoing ministers expressed their confidence in Lecornu and called for compromise solutions in parliament.

The president of the National Assembly emphasized the willingness of lawmakers to get to work. Nevertheless, tensions and polarization remain high.

With this decision, Macron is clearly trying to buy time, but at the same time he faces accusations of ignoring public opinion and becoming increasingly isolated. It remains to be seen whether this old-new government can restore public confidence.
