Drone attack hits Russian Tuapse, damaging important oil terminal

On Friday night, the port of Tuapse on the Black Sea coast was hit by a drone attack that damaged one of the tankers and caused a fire at the local oil terminal. This was reported by the regional administration of Krasnodar Krai.

According to their information, parts of the drones hit the tanker's deck, causing a fire. The ship's crew was evacuated.

The port of Tuapse is an important hub for the export of oil and oil products from Russia. The local terminal also houses a refinery operated by Rosneft. Ukraine has targeted it several times in the past.

According to local authorities, the attack caused damage to buildings and parts of the infrastructure. Unofficial channels on Telegram published images of the burning tanker and several fires in the vicinity of the port, but these could not be independently verified by Reuters.

Street cameras also recorded the crash of drone debris onto a residential building in the village of Sosnovy near Tuapse, with authorities reporting no injuries. The local train station was slightly damaged.
