French ministers report Musk's Grok, digitally undressing people

Musician Julie Yukari from Brazil unexpectedly found herself in the spotlight after New Year's Eve after users of social network X challenged chatbot Grok to make sexualised images of her. Grok, a product of Elon Musk's xAI company, complied with those calls.

The woman initially assumed that the artificial intelligence would reject such requests, but it turned out that the protection mechanisms had failed. Meanwhile, there are dozens of similar cases where Grok has generated digitally undressed photos of real people without their consent.

In some cases, he has even created sexualised images of children, which Musk has since admitted and assured Musk of a remedy. According to the statement, these were only isolated cases where users purposefully asked for such content and the system provided it to them.

The cases have sparked reactions from regulators in several countries. French ministers have reported it to the public prosecutor's office asking for a probe, while India's IT ministry has warned of violations of the platform's obligations.
