Iran rejects US peace plan and demands full end to war

Iran has rejected a 15-point proposal from the United States aimed at ending the war, according to state-run Press TV, citing an unnamed senior security official. The BBC reported the development on its website.

The official said Tehran would only end the conflict on its own terms and at a time of its choosing. Iran has consistently ruled out any temporary ceasefire and insists instead on a complete end to hostilities.

Tehran is said to have outlined five key demands. These include a halt to what it describes as ‘aggression and assassinations’, guarantees that the conflict will not resume, and clearly defined war reparations. It has also called for recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.

While Washington is attempting to advance negotiations through multiple diplomatic channels, Iranian officials reportedly view the proposals as excessive.

At the same time, reports suggest a broader US backed framework would require significant concessions from Tehran, including limits on its nuclear programme.
