Tusk Warns of Sabotage After Raid on Polish President's Relative

Polish authorities are investigating a series of false security alarms that have struck several cities in recent days. The latest incident occurred on Saturday evening in Gdansk, where an emergency line received a call reporting an alleged fire in an apartment belonging to a relative of Polish President Karol Nawrocki.

Firefighters and police rushed to the scene and forced entry into the apartment. A search found the premises empty, with no fire and no casualties. The interior ministry subsequently opened an investigation to identify those responsible for the false report.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk described the incident as "another telephone provocation" and called an emergency meeting of the Government Security Center on Sunday morning. He said it was not an isolated case but part of a wider series of coordinated alarms designed to destabilize the security forces and provoke tensions.

"The provocateurs' actions are aimed at national security. At all of us." Tusk wrote on X. He also announced stricter procedures for evaluating distress reports and stronger action against perpetrators. The Polish government, he said, would use all available means to track them down, regardless of "where they come from or who directs them".
