Russian Overnight Strikes Hit WHO Offices in Kyiv
World Health Organization (WHO) offices in Kyiv suffered damage in overnight Russian strikes on the Ukrainian capital. Debris struck part of the building, which also houses other UN agencies, according to WHO director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
No one in the building was injured, but Ghebreyesus said the attacks demonstrated once again that Ukraine's civilian infrastructure remained under threat. The WHO called for an immediate halt to attacks on health facilities and civilians and reiterated its call for a ceasefire.
"Multiple deaths and injuries have been reported so far from the attacks on civilian infrastructure over night. Attacks on health and civilians MUST STOP. We urge once again for a ceasefire. Peace is the best medicine", Ghebreyesus said.
