Hamas releases video showing Israeli hostages who were abducted to Gaza
Hamas has released a video showing two Israeli hostages who were kidnapped on October 7, 2023, during an attack on the Nova music festival.
The footage shows Guy Gilboa Dalal stating in Hebrew that he is in Gaza and calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to continue the offensive. The video is said to have been recorded on August 28.
The second hostage, Alon Ohel, is also seen in the video, but at the request of his family, the Israeli media did not publish this part.
According to the Echo24 portal, the new footage has triggered a wave of reactions – the opposition is calling for the resumption of negotiations on the release of the kidnapped, while radical politicians are calling for a complete occupation of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army launched a new offensive in mid-August, but has faced fierce criticism both at home and abroad. Forty-eight hostages remain in the Gaza Strip, of whom only 20 are reportedly still alive.
According to the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health, Israeli attacks have claimed more than 64,000 Palestinian lives since the start of the war.
