Verstappen dominated at Monza and secured his second victory this year

Max Verstappen of Team Red Bull dominated the fastest race in Formula 1 history, triumphing at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza with a comfortable lead of 19.2 seconds. The Dutchman claimed his third victory of the season and his first since Imola in May.

Drama was provided by the internal situation at McLaren. Lando Norris lost his position to his teammate Oscar Piastri after a slow pit stop, but the team decided that they should swap places.

The Australian respected the instruction and finished third, reducing his lead in the championship to 31 points. Verstappen reacted ironically to the swap over the team radio.

Ferrari delighted the home fans thanks to Charles Leclerc's fourth place. Mercedes' George Russell finished fifth and Lewis Hamilton sixth.

The remaining points were shared between Alexander Albon (Williams), Gabriel Bortoleto (Sauber), Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), and Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls).
