Zelensky: Putin wants to conquer Donbass within four months
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in an interview with ABC News that Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to occupy Donbass within four months—a plan he has communicated to both the White House and US President Donald Trump's envoy.
Zelensky warns that an accelerated Russian offensive could cost millions of lives. At the same time, Ukraine rejects a proposal from Moscow that Kiev should give up the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in exchange for a limited Russian withdrawal from the Sumy and Kharkiv areas.
Zelensky emphasizes that this would not stop the Russian advance – Moscow continues to strive for Kharkiv. He responded negatively to Putin's invitation to negotiations in Moscow. He will not travel to a city that he describes as a source of terror.
