Belarus shot down stray drones and informed Poland and Lithuania

On Wednesday, Belarus announced that it had shot down several drones that had strayed off course due to electronic interference during nighttime attacks between Russia and Ukraine. Minsk also informed Poland and Lithuania of their approach.

Chief of General Staff Pavel Muravyeiko did not specify who the drones belonged to. He merely stated that the Belarusian air defense had continuously monitored unmanned aerial vehicles that had lost their flight path as a result of radio and electronic jamming measures by both sides.

Poland reported that a large number of Russian drones had entered its airspace. Those that posed a direct threat were shot down. Muravchenko emphasized that the early warning had enabled the Polish side to respond quickly by deploying its standby forces.

According to Muravchenko, Belarus will continue to fulfill its obligations under the information exchange agreement on the air situation with Poland and the Baltic states.
