Authorities have released a video of the suspected attacker's escape from Kirk

US authorities are still searching for the shooter who killed right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. Investigators have not yet publicly named a possible motive, but Trump told reporters he had a clue as to the perpetrator's motivation.

According to authorities, surveillance cameras show a person climbing stairs to the roof and shooting Kirk from there.

A second series of photos released by authorities in Utah showed clearer images of the slender young man, revealing details of his backpack and Converse shoes. Authorities also released a video showing the man climbing down from the roof where the sniper fired the fatal shot. When he jumped to the ground, he left a handprint and other genetic traces on the building.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox emphasized that investigators had already received thousands of tips from the public and conducted hundreds of interviews. At the same time, he warned of the large amount of misinformation spreading on social media, including from foreign sources.

Cox also confirmed that the state is preparing to seek the death penalty if the perpetrator is arrested and convicted.
