Trump: My patience with Putin is wearing thin – War in Ukraine is Europe's problem

US President Donald Trump said his patience with Russian President Vladimir Putin was “running out very quickly.” However, he did not announce any new sanctions against Russia for the time being.

In an interview with Fox & Friends, Trump expressed frustration that Putin had not taken any steps to end the war in Ukraine.

The president held out the prospect of further measures – from sanctions against banks and the oil sector to new tariffs.

However, he emphasized that without Europe's active participation, such steps would have only limited effectiveness.

As an example of his own actions, he cited the introduction of a 50 percent punitive tariff on Indian exports to the US.

This shows his willingness to act even at the expense of strained relations with important trading partners.

At the same time, Trump made it clear that although he had tried for years to maintain a “good relationship” with Putin, his willingness to wait for results had its limits.
