Zelensky urges allies: No excuses for sanctions against Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on allies to stop buying Russian oil and not to look for “excuses” to avoid sanctions.

US President Donald Trump stated that the US would only comply with sanctions if all NATO members followed suit.

“I call on all partners to stop looking for excuses not to impose sanctions—Europe, the US, the G7, the G20,” Zelensky wrote on X.

“It is necessary to reduce consumption of Russian oil, and this will definitely weaken Russia's ability to fight. We can hear the US position, and this position should be heard by all those who still choose supplies from Russia instead of other partners,” he added.
