In The Hague, police intervened during a demonstration against migration and used water cannons

In The Hague, police had to use water cannons to disperse some of the participants in an anti-immigration demonstration who were throwing stones and bottles at police officers and blocking the highway.

The demonstration took place just under a month before the parliamentary elections and was organized by a right-wing activist named Els Rechts.

She has long been critical of asylum policy and calls for fairer access to housing in the Netherlands. According to local media, thousands of people took part in the demonstration, during which a car was set on fire and police vehicles were attacked.

Right-wing politician Geert Wilders was also invited to the demonstration but did not attend. He subsequently condemned the violence and the blockade of the highway as unacceptable on Platform X.
