RIA: Moscow and Tehran expand cooperation in the field of nuclear energy

Russia and Iran plan to sign agreements this week on the construction of new nuclear power plant units in Iran. This was announced by the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization and Vice President Mohammad Eslámí during his visit to Moscow, as reported by the RIA agency.

According to Tehran, the aim is to develop peaceful nuclear energy. Russia has repeatedly emphasized that it supports Iran's right to use nuclear energy for civilian purposes.

However, Western countries accuse Tehran of not complying with the 2015 nuclear agreement, which was intended to prevent the development of nuclear weapons. Iran rejects these accusations and claims that its program is not aimed at military purposes.
