The US Department of Homeland Security compared the arrest of migrants to Pokemon

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) caused an uproar after posting a video on social network X comparing the arrest of migrants to catching Pokémon. The short clip shows footage of operations and raids, interspersed with the opening sequence of the well-known cartoon series, as noted by the website Newsweek.

A video was posted on platform X with the slogan “Gotta Catch 'Em All,” familiar from the Pokémon series, depicting the operations against migrants as “catching.”

The video shows “playing cards” with the arrested individuals and their criminal pasts. For example, one of the cards shows a man convicted of murder, another a driver convicted of drunk driving.

The DHS even added an image of the character Pikachu with the description “the latest addition to the Border Patrol.” Critics questioned the legality of using the Pokémon trademark, as this could constitute copyright infringement.
