Guardian: Zelensky warns that Putin could extend the war to Europe
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin could try to extend the war to other European countries.
According to the Guardian newspaper, Kiev is convinced that Moscow is testing Europe's ability to protect its airspace with increasingly frequent incidents involving drones and military aircraft. In recent days, suspicious flights have been recorded over Denmark, Poland, Romania, Norway, and Estonia.
After returning from the UN General Assembly, where he also met with US President Donald Trump, Zelensky stated that the Kremlin is preparing for a larger conflict and looking for “other ways” to engage in aggression. In his opinion, European governments are currently grappling with new threats and need better air defense tools. Ukraine has therefore offered its partners practical training in drone and missile defense.
After the meeting in New York, Trump described the Russian army as a “paper tiger” and emphasized that he believes in Kiev's ability to regain the occupied territories with the support of NATO and Europe. Zelensky added that Kiev would take direct action against Moscow if Russia tried again to destroy Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
