Russia doubts that the US will supply Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow sees no evidence that the US has made a final decision on supplying Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. He was responding to comments made over the weekend by US Vice President JD Vance, who said Washington was considering this option.
Lavrov also suggested that the discussion on this issue was more the result of pressure from the US's European allies than an expression of actual intent.
According to Moscow, this is a sensitive issue, as the Russian military is analyzing whether the US would actually supply Kiev with missiles capable of hitting targets deep inside Russian territory.
Russian officials believe that such a move could represent a serious escalation of the conflict.
Russian rhetoric suggests that Moscow would perceive such a delivery as a significant expansion of Western military aid and thus as an immediate threat.
