Rowling on “Hermione” Watson: She lives outside the reality of ordinary women
JK Rowling has sharply criticized Emma Watson, who played Hermione in the Harry Potter film series, on social media, reports the daily newspaper Welt.
According to Rowling, the actress does not have enough experience with real life and does not understand the real concerns of many women. The writer pointed in particular to the risks she believes are associated with the presence of trans women in women's changing rooms or crisis centers.
She claims that Watson has never experienced such situations and grew up in a privileged environment. She also recalled her own experiences with poverty before writing the first part of the saga.
Although Watson has sought reconciliation in the past, Rowling responded with harsh words. Their public feud has been ongoing since 2020, when the actress distanced herself from the author's comments about transgender people.
