Ryabkov: Third round of talks with the US to take place by the end of autumn at the latest
According to Sergei Ryabkov, Russia's deputy foreign minister, the third round of talks between Russia and the US on reducing tensions in bilateral relations is to take place by the end of autumn at the latest.
As reported by the TASS news agency, a specific date has not yet been set, but according to Ryabkov, the talks will continue.
The two previous rounds took place in Istanbul in February and April. They focused on improving working conditions for embassies and resolving so-called “irritants” in relations between Moscow and Washington.
The talks were held behind closed doors and lasted several hours. The Russian delegation was led by Ambassador to Washington Alexander Darchiev. The American side was represented by senior diplomat Sonata Coulter.
Although these are technical consultations, their timing and content could have an impact on broader geopolitical relations between Russia and the US.
