Zelensky: US government shutdown could jeopardize weapons for Ukraine

Ukraine warns that deliveries of American weapons could be delayed due to the US government shutdown. Federal employees have been sent on forced leave, bringing talks between the Ukrainian delegation and White House representatives to a standstill.

A key agreement on the exchange of drone technology, supported by both US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, is now in limbo.

According to the Telegraph website, sources in Kiev say that other projects are also at risk because meetings with representatives of the Pentagon and the State Department have been suspended.

The US recently approved a $500 million aid package.

Trump surprisingly declared that Ukraine had a chance to regain its entire territory – a departure from his previous calls for territorial concessions. Zelensky is also demanding the delivery of Tomahawk missiles, which he believes could persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate.

Aid organizations are warning that Russia is intensifying its attacks with unprecedented severity.
