Polish border guards discover tunnel from Belarus to Poland
Polish border guards in the Podlaskie Voivodeship have discovered a tunnel from Belarus to Poland that was located under the border fence. The information about the discovery was published by the Euronews portal, citing a post by Polish Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration Marcin Kierwiński on the X platform. The tunnel began and ended about 20 meters from the border.
This is already the second tunnel discovered by the authorities this year on the Polish-Belarusian border. The previous tunnel was found near the border guard post in Narewka. Both tunnels were identified with the help of newly installed technologies, including thermal imaging cameras, which were implemented in July during the modernization of a section of the border.
According to border guards, there were more than 60 attempts to cross the border illegally on Thursday alone. Since the beginning of 2025, authorities have recorded more than 26,700 such attempts.
