In the Netherlands, the D66 party won. Wilders came second
The centrist Democrats 66 party has won the Dutch parliamentary elections held on Wednesday, according to the ANP news agency, which has counted almost all of the votes. The party's leader, Rob Jetten, could therefore become the new Dutch prime minister.
The party finished ahead of Geert Wilders' right-wing Party for Freedom, which was considered one of the favorites in the elections.
The ANP agency, which collects data from all municipalities, confirmed that Democrats 66 has already secured victory and that Wilders can no longer catch up.
However, the final composition of parliament has not yet been officially confirmed.
