A tourist wanted to photograph a bison and ended up in the hospital
The Białowieża National Park administration is calling on tourists on social media to behave sensibly when encountering bison and to keep a minimum distance of at least 50 meters. The reason for this is a recent incident in Teremiski.
A group of visitors to the primeval forest got too close to an animal. One of the tourists, who was trying to take a photo, was attacked by a bison, suffered injuries, and had to be taken to hospital.
The park points out that bison are large, strong, and fast animals that can behave aggressively when they feel threatened. It therefore urges all visitors to respect their natural comfort zone and not to disturb them.
At the same time, the park administration strongly warns against feeding wild animals, especially near human dwellings.
Bison also live in Slovakia, namely in the Poloniny National Park. According to the park administration, conservationists in our country have recorded a total of 80 animals.
