Cloudflare's widespread outage hit websites including ChatGPT and X
A widespread global outage at a key internet infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, disrupted much of the internet on Tuesday.
The problem affected many well-known websites and services, including chatbot ChatGPT, social platform X, Coinbase, Moody's and NJ Transit.
San Francisco-based Cloudflare said it has already identified the problem and is working to fix it. It has gradually managed to restore Cloudflare's Access and WARP services, with error levels returning to pre-incident levels.
Cloudflare said it had seen an increase in "unusual traffic" prior to the widespread network-wide errors. The company, which focuses on protecting websites from online threats, assures that it is working to restore traffic flawlessly.
The incident comes just a month after similar massive breaches faced by Microsoft Azure and Amazon cloud platforms, which led to outages on services such as Office 365, Snapchat and Reddit.
