Harvard probes Larry Summers' ties to Epstein after new evidence

Harvard launches an internal investigation after leaked documents reveal a close and long-standing relationship between Larry Summers and Jeffrey Epstein.

Summers, the former head of Harvard and former US Treasury Secretary, withdrew from all public posts under public pressure. Other names associated with the university - including his wife - are also in the spotlight.

The university newspaper reports that Summers exchanged hundreds of messages with Epstein about women, politics and Harvard-related topics.

The investigation was launched just days after US President Donald Trump called for the case to be opened and Congress subsequently voted to release thousands of pages of documents.

Trump, meanwhile, has denied any connection to Epstein. Both the university itself and Summers have not yet commented publicly on the situation.
