Both London and US face cyber attacks, accused teenagers claim innocence

Two British teenagers, 18-year-old Owen Flowers and 19-year-old Thalha Jubair, face charges of large-scale cybercrime.

According to prosecutors, they were allegedly involved in a hacking attack on TfL's London transport system in August 2024, in which passengers' personal details were also compromised. At Southwark Crown Court, both young men pleaded not guilty.

Flowers faces additional charges related to the attacks on US healthcare networks Sutter Health and SSM Health Care. Jubair, in turn, is accused of refusing to hand over passwords to devices seized during the investigation.

The trial of both defendants is scheduled for June next year. The case has also attracted attention due to its international reach and the sensitive nature of the compromised systems.
