Real peace must prevent further Russian invasion, Zelensky declares

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed on Saturday that lasting peace can only come about on the basis of solid security and justice.

He announced that Ukraine would begin negotiations with foreign partners in the coming days on further steps towards ending the Russian invasion.

Zelensky said that the Ukrainian negotiating delegation is ready to promote the country's key national interests. "Our representatives know how to protect Ukraine and what needs to be done to prevent Russia from carrying out a third invasion or striking another blow," he said.

The president also stressed that any future agreement must include clear security guarantees to prevent a repeat of Russian aggression. His statement comes at a time when discussions are intensifying on the international stage about possible steps to achieve peace and about Ukraine's role in shaping the next diplomatic strategy.
