Zelensky hopes for January leaders' summit in the US

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine hopes to hold a leaders' summit in the United States by the end of January. It would discuss proposals on how to end the war with Russia.

Zelensky said Ukraine and national security advisers from 18 countries were in Kiev to discuss security guarantees, economic agreements and a sequence of steps. The talks will continue next week during a meeting of European leaders in Paris and then with U.S. negotiators.

"And then ... we will prepare for a meeting in the United States at the level of leaders. We would like all this to take place in January, by the end of January," Zelensky said.
