Germany wants to combat AI immorality with legislation

The German Ministry of Justice plans to introduce legislative measures to combat the misuse of artificial intelligence in the creation of sexually explicit images without the consent of the persons concerned. This is in response to growing concerns about the use of Grok, an AI chatbot on Elon Musk's X platform.

The tool has become the subject of an investigation in Europe for its so-called "spicy mode." It generated images of women and children in minimal clothing, often without their knowledge. The German media minister has called on the European Commission to stop this "industrialization of sexual harassment."

Justice Ministry spokeswoman Anna-Lena Beckfeld specified that Germany is preparing a bill against digital violence. The aim is to enable victims to defend themselves more effectively and to use criminal law to combat systematic violations of personal rights through AI manipulation.

In the meantime, xAI has restricted image generation to paying users only. Musk has announced that anyone who uses Grok to create illegal content will be held responsible as if they had uploaded it themselves.
