Czech Republic to limit military support for Ukraine, says Babiš

The leader of the ANO movement and returning Prime Minister Andrej Babiš announced on Sunday that the Czech Republic will not send troops to Ukraine and will no longer finance the arming of Ukraine. Not a single crown from the state budget will go towards the ammunition initiative.

"We will not send any soldiers to Ukraine, and not a single crown will go towards weapons for Ukraine," Babiš said in a video posted on social media.

"Czech companies have done very well as part of the ammunition initiative. Sales are around CZK 270 billion," said the Czech prime minister.

Babiš also recalled his Christmas phone call with US President Donald Trump, with whom he discussed, among other things, Russian aggression in Ukraine. "There will be no peace in Ukraine without Donald Trump and without the United States," he said.
