Trump bought bonds from well-known companies for two million dollars

Between November and December 2025, US President Donald Trump purchased approximately $100 million worth of municipal and corporate bonds. Among them were bonds from Netflix and Warner Bros Discovery, which had recently announced their planned merger.

Trump thus invested approximately $2 million in their bonds – just a few weeks before announcing that he would have the final say in approving their $83 billion merger.

This investment raised questions about a possible conflict of interest. However, the White House claims that Trump's portfolio is managed by independent financial institutions without his involvement. In addition to media giants, he also invested in companies such as Boeing and General Motors.

According to available data, Trump had previously purchased bonds worth $82 million.
