Poland was the center of a huge drug network in the EU, says Europol
An international operation led by Europol has struck against one of the largest synthetic drug networks in Europe. Operating from Poland, the network had built a logistics center for the distribution of narcotics throughout the EU.
In cooperation with China and India, it imported chemical precursors, which it processed in more than 20 clandestine laboratories located in Poland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic.
Investigators seized more than 9.3 tons of drugs and arrested over a hundred people. The Polish police released footage from the raids showing extensive stocks of chemicals and technical equipment.
The operation, which began in 2022, reveals a highly organized supply chain in which legally imported chemicals were used to produce illegal substances.
Europol ensured the exchange of intelligence and coordinated interventions across countries. The value of the seized substances has not been disclosed.
