Nvidia board member steps down, holds 26 million shares
Nvidia announced that Persis Drell, a 70-year-old engineering professor at Stanford University, has resigned from its board of directors after more than ten years, according to CNBC.
Drell was a member of the compensation committee and earned approximately $344,000 for her work in fiscal year 2023, including $259,000 in stock. According to her financial disclosure statement, she owns nearly 143,000 shares of Nvidia stock, currently valued at approximately $26 million. Last year, she sold approximately 40,000 shares.
According to the company, her decision was not related to conflicts or disagreement with company policy, but rather to her desire to pursue a "new professional opportunity."
Following her departure, the board has ten members, including CEO Jensen Huang. Drell is the second board member to leave since June, following astronaut Ellen Ochoa.
