Syria extends truce with Kurdish forces by 15 days

The four-day ceasefire agreement between the Syrian government and Kurdish forces, which expired on Saturday evening, has been extended by 15 days, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday.

The extension was decided in order to support the US operation aimed at transferring Islamic State prisoners from Syria to Iraq, the ministry said in a statement.
