According to Zelensky, Ukraine will join the EU in 2027
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on a conversation with Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker, in which they discussed the critical energy situation in Ukraine. Zelensky pointed out that Russia is attacking energy infrastructure on a daily basis with the aim of depriving Ukrainians of electricity and heat.
He expressed his gratitude to Austria for its recent decision to allocate funds to support the Ukrainian energy sector and appreciated the interest in further forms of cooperation.
He also informed the Chancellor about the details of the trilateral meetings between delegations from Ukraine, the US, and Russia, which took place last week in the United Arab Emirates. The talks focused primarily on military issues and security guarantees.
In this context, he emphasized that Ukraine's accession to the European Union is a key security guarantee not only for Ukraine but also for the entire continent. According to Zelensky, Ukraine contributes significantly to Europe's security, technological, and economic strength. He therefore expects support from partners for the planned accession to the EU by 2027.
In conclusion, the president invited Chancellor Stocker to visit Ukraine so that they could continue their personal dialogue.
