Illegal migrants with ties to ISIS and al-Qaeda detained in America
According to the Daily Signal, the US Department of Homeland Security confirmed that last year it arrested several illegal immigrants who had known ties to terrorist organizations, including ISIS, al-Qaeda, and Iranian militant groups.
Among those detained were individuals linked to the MS-13 gang, which President Donald Trump has once again designated a foreign terrorist organization since returning to office.
According to the department, those detained include members of al-Qaeda, ISIS, the Islamic Republic of Iran Corps, and MS-13. Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin noted that the Trump administration had dispatched Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to target individuals posing a threat to national security.
One of those detained, for example, is Chasib Hafedh Saadoon Al Fawadi, an illegal immigrant from Iraq identified as a member of the Shiite militant group Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, which the US has previously designated as a terrorist organization.
