Iran considers EU countries' armies to be terrorist groups

On Sunday, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, announced that he considers the armed forces of European Union countries to be terrorist groups.

Iran is responding to Thursday's decision by EU foreign ministers to add the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to the list of terrorist organizations.

"By trying to target the Revolutionary Guards... , Europeans have actually shot themselves in the foot and once again made a decision against the interests of their citizens by blindly obeying the Americans," said Kálíbáf, adding that "according to Article 7 of the law on countermeasures against the designation of the Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization, the armies of European countries are considered terrorist groups.".
