Trump toughens stance on Cuba, embassy reports chaos and protests
The US Embassy in Cuba has warned US citizens about the deteriorating security and living conditions in the country. According to its statement, there has been a recent increase in government-sponsored protests against the United States, and there have also been cases where Americans have been denied entry into the country upon arrival.
At the same time, it warns of serious power outages and acute fuel shortages, which cause long hours without electricity and complicate everyday life.
The situation has escalated after Washington tightened measures to block oil supplies to Cuba, including those from Venezuela. According to available data, this has led to an increase in food and transport prices and further deepened the island's energy crisis.
Following the recent intervention by the US military in Venezuela, US President Donald Trump is openly talking about putting pressure on Havana, claiming that without Venezuelan oil, Cuba is reaching a dead end. The Cuban side acknowledges that communication with the US exists, but that it is still far from a real dialogue.
