Shooting at Canadian school claims 10 victims
Ten people were killed in the town of Tumbler Ridge in the Canadian province of British Columbia, including the perpetrator, who, according to police, acted alone and probably took her own life.
Six victims were found directly in the high school building, two others in a nearby house related to the incident, and one person died while being transported to the hospital.
Authorities also confirmed several injuries, with at least two people in serious condition. The shooter was described as a woman, which is unusual for such attacks in North America.
The small community of approximately 2,400 residents is in shock, the school will remain closed, and psychological assistance is available. The tragedy is one of the worst in Canadian history.
