Support for the monarchy in Norway has fallen to a record low

Support for the monarchy in Norway has fallen to 60 percent, the worst result recorded by the Norstat agency. Just a month ago, it stood at 70 percent.

Analysts are talking about a dramatic decline and a "yellow card" for the royal house. It seems that the public is reacting mainly to the scandal surrounding Crown Princess Mette-Marit and her contacts with Jeffrey Epstein, as well as other controversies in the family.

Paradoxically, King Harald himself remains extremely popular. On a ten-point scale, he received an average rating of 9.2 and Queen Sonja 8.6. While confidence in the institution is weakening, the personal position of the 89-year-old monarch is, according to commentators, "solid as a rock."

Moreover, the king is working more than in the past—last year, he attended 233 official events, 40 more than the year before, and significantly increased the number of trips outside Oslo.
