Democrats accuse ministry of concealing files on Trump
The dispute over documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case is taking on a new political dimension.
Democratic Congressman Robert Garcia accused the US Department of Justice of withholding more than 50 pages from a package of more than three million published materials relating to the testimony of a woman who accused President Donald Trump of sexual abuse when she was a minor.
According to Garcia, the FBI interviewed the woman four times, but the public only saw the first interview without any specific details.
The Justice Department says it is investigating whether some documents were withheld improperly and emphasizes that some of the materials contain unsubstantiated or sensational claims.
The White House responded with a statement that Trump was "completely exonerated" in connection with Epstein and never faced criminal prosecution.
