Dispute with the Trump administration: Radiohead vs. the immigration authorities

British band Radiohead has asked the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to remove a video in which it used the song "Let Down" without its consent.

The song was used as background music for a promotional clip posted on social media, which showed victims of violence attributed to illegal immigrants. The band called the use of the song unacceptable and called on the agency to remove the video.

The intervention comes at a time when the institution is under heavy criticism for its handling of President Donald Trump's immigration policy. Human rights advocates have long drawn attention to harsh deportation campaigns, deaths in detention centers, and concerns about interference with freedom of expression.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency did not immediately respond to the band's request. The dispute thus reopens the question of where the boundaries lie between political communication by state institutions and the copyrights of artists.
