Cyprus will resume regular EU meetings starting in April
All informal EU Council meetings scheduled to take place in Cyprus between April and June will go ahead as planned, Cypriot Energy Minister Michalis Damianos said on Monday.
Cyprus, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union, moved its March meetings online or postponed them following a drone attack on a British airbase earlier this month, amid tensions involving Iran. According to Cypriot officials, the drone was an Iranian Shahed model, likely launched from Lebanon by the Iran-backed group Hezbollah.
‘Everything has returned to normal. All activities and informal meetings in Cyprus between April and June will take place as usual,’ Damianos said ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.
